1. Overall Project Objectives

Within the 2‑3‑year construction period, Jiangsu Engineering Technology Research Center for Green Manufacturing of Core Components of High‑Speed Rail Brake System will make full use of the company’s R&D center, laboratories and pilot‑scale workshop to expand its scientific research and trial‑manufacturing base, providing technical support for transforming scientific research achievements into productive forces. In accordance with the technical development trend of high‑speed rail brake systems and their core components, the center will carry out research on key and generic technologies including material preparation processes, high‑efficiency green forging‑casting processes, high‑efficiency green precision machining technologies, intelligent production technologies and high‑precision dynamic performance testing for core components of high‑speed rail brake systems. Independent innovation will be achieved in structural material preparation processes, high‑efficiency green forging‑casting processes and high‑efficiency green precision machining technologies. A digital design and integrated simulation‑optimization system for material forming processes together with a simulation design and verification platform will be constructed to form independent intellectual property rights, enhance core competitiveness, break foreign technical monopolies and fill domestic technical gaps. Imported products will be gradually replaced to accelerate the engineering and industrialization of products, and improve the overall level of Jiangsu’s rail transit industry, especially high‑speed rail brake systems, enabling Jiangsu Province to take a domestic leading position in technological innovation and achievement incubation for high‑speed rail brake systems. Through cooperation with institutions of higher education, advanced foreign technologies will be introduced, digested and absorbed to upgrade in‑house technical application capabilities and foster a well‑structured scientific and technological talent team with sound professional qualities.

Focusing on green manufacturing of core components for high‑speed rail brake systems, domestic superior resources will be integrated and pooled. After 2‑3 years of construction, the engineering technology center will be developed into a large‑scale and intensive R&D institution and technical exchange platform of national influence, integrating scientific research & development, product testing, quality inspection, technical training, achievement promotion and information services.

2. R&D Directions

Centering on green manufacturing and intelligent production, core components of high‑speed rail brake systems will be researched and developed via design innovation.

  • (1) Research on rapid preparation processes and green forming technologies for core components of high‑speed rail brake systems based on multi‑element microalloying, to satisfy strength, hardness and toughness requirements and break technical bottlenecks for preparing new‑material products with high performance, low cost and high efficiency.
  • (2) Establish integrated theories and a system platform for digital design and integrated simulation‑optimization systems of material forming processes, realizing five core functions: digital design for green casting products, green casting materials, digitally‑driven green casting equipment, production lines & workshops & factories, and green casting cloud service platform.
  • (3) Research on digital casting technologies for core components of high‑speed rail brake systems. Taking “Internet +” as the approach, deep integration of high‑tech and the casting industry will accelerate informatization progress of the casting sector.
  • (4) Research and development of integrated fixed‑abrasive grinding‑polishing devices and technologies for core components of high‑speed rail brake systems, greatly reducing waste and waste liquid generated in grinding and polishing. Surface roughness Ra ≤ 0.1 μm can be achieved to realize green, precise and high‑efficiency machining of core components.
  • (5) Research and development of high‑precision dynamic performance detection and control technologies for the machining process of high‑speed rail brake system core components, solving the challenge of predictable and controllable machining effects. Information and automation technologies will be integrated to build an intelligent manufacturing platform.
